Description

This a draft drawing i made to come up with a composition, and figure things out before i do the actual drawing.

However, it is also the second (i think) time i have actually tried to use my graphics tablet. so it also turned into something of an experiment.

and i thought i would share this with you all, largely because i sort of like the way it looks, even if it may just be graphic-tablet-style novelty. and i figure this may give you all an idea as to the boring types of things i am doing with my time instead (for the time being).

The only reason this is not 'Scraps', is because i have not submitted anything in so long. I will probably move it later, if i remember.

if you have any critique regarding this picture (composition, elements, cropping, setting, materials, perspective/scale problems, etc.) i am about to start re-drawing it on paper, in pen. so you have only a few hours in which your comment could potentially elicit a change in the final image.

*EDIT*
Final version of this is HERE

pretty good drawing! for some reason it reminds me a bit of the scumm bar in monkey island 1, all it needs is that warm orange glow and a dog :)

btw, since you're doing this digitally, you can leverage a simple and powerful technique to get more detail and realism: just work with a really really big canvas, pretty zoomed in most of the time. it's of course lots more effort, but when you drop back to 50% or 25% in photoshop and see the crisp details, i'm sure you'll find it worth it :) i'm guessing that's how people manage to cram pixel-level details into works like this: [link]
